The Dental Clinic at EMCHC opened in 2012 and has grown steadily since!

The Dental Clinic currently supports the following programs:

  • Healthy Smiles Ontario
  • Ontario Seniors’ Dental Care Program

These programs have specific eligibility requirements and also require a registration process. Please call our clinic at 905-602-0520 for more information and assistance.

CHILDREN’S DENTAL CARE PROGRAM INFORMATION:

Healthy Smiles Ontario is a government-funded dental program that provides free dental cleaning, routine, and emergency dental services for children and youth 17 years old and under from low-income households.

Emergency Dental Services
Our clinic provides free emergency dental services for children and youth up to the age of 17 under the Healthy Smiles Ontario - Emergency and Essential Services Program.

The program provides dental care for children and youth with emergency and/or essential dental conditions from families who would experience financial hardship if they had to pay for treatment.

Applicants must be assessed for an emergency need and/or essential dental conditions, and must also attest to financial hardship to access emergency or essential care under the program.

SENIORS’ DENTAL CARE PROGRAM INFORMATION:

Seniors that are covered under the Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program (OSDCP) can access services in our dental clinic.

The new Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program (OSDCP) is a government funded dental care program. It provides dental services for low-income seniors who are eligible.

ELIGIBILITY FOR THE ONTARIO SENIORS DENTAL CARE PROGRAM:

Ontario residents are eligible for the OSDCP if they:

  • Are 65 years or older.
  • Are a resident of Ontario.
  • Have an annual net income of $22,200 or less for a single person or a combined annual net income of $37,100 or less for a couple.
  • Have no access to any other form of dental benefits such as private insurance or other provincial, or federal government program.

DENTAL SERVICES COVERED UNDER THE ONTARIO SENIORS DENTAL CARE PROGRAM:

The following dental services are provided to OSDCP clients:

  • examinations and assessments
  • preventive services
  • restorative services to repair broken teeth and cavities
  • X-rays
  • oral surgery to remove teeth or abnormal tissue
  • anesthesia
  • endodontic services to treat infection and pain
  • limited periodontal services to treat gum conditions and diseases

Prosthodontic services, including dentures, will be partially covered.
